Harrop Engineering is proud to announce our latest product fresh out of the CNC machines our tougher Truetrac differential to suit the Ford PX Ranger. Like all Harrop Engineered products our Truetrac’s are built to last, offering maintenance free traction.
The Harrop | Eaton Truetrac was the first helical gear differential to be introduced to the automotive aftermarket, utilising technology derived from the Eaton Detroit Truetrac limited slip differential (LSD) which is a pioneer in helical gear based traction devices.
The Harrop Truetrac differential operates as a standard or open differential under normal driving conditions, allowing the vehicles wheels to spin faster or slower as necessary. When a wheel encounters a loss of traction or the terrain changes, torque is automatically transferred to the high-traction wheel. The helical-shaped gears mesh with increasing force until wheel spin is slowed or completely stopped. When the vehicle exits the low traction situation, the differential resumes normal operation.
The helical-gear design maximises wheel traction and enhances driving and handling characteristics, still retaining a smooth and quiet operation. The unit will engage automatically without any driver knowledge or action required.
